It deals with the Principals, Qualities, Action and Therapeutic profiles of the food and drugs substances in Ayurveda. This department also includes morden pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, , plants and other materials related to medicine. The department has big collection of dry specimens of various rare species / drugs, Models, charts and photographs. A herbal garden is attached to this department having 200 species and 3000 herbs. Through this department periodical study tours are conducted for the students both in South India and all over India.
