Western Zone Vice Chancellor’s Conference on Implementation of National Education Policy-2020 on 26 October 2023 at Statue of Unity
• To discuss, deliberate and share insights on the various aspects of NEP-2020, a one-day Education Summit, “Western Zone Vice Chancellors’ Conference on Implementation of NEP-2020”, was organized at Tent City-2, Statue of Unity, Kevadia, Ekta Nagar in Narmada district, Gujarat on 26th October 2023 by Department of Education, Govt. of Gujarat in association with the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
This conference was organized as a part of Pre-Vibrant Summit.
• This conference was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel in august presence of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, Government of India, Shri Rushikeshbhai Patel, Hon’ble Education Minister, Higher & Technical Education, Govt. of Gujarat, Shri Praful Pansheriya, Hon’ble Minister of State, Primary, Secondary & Adult Education, Higher Education, Govt. of Gujarat, Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman, UGC, Government of India, Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, Government of India.
• More than 300 dignitaries (Vice Chancellors, and NEP Coordinators) from the following states namely Gujarat, Maharashtra, Daman and Diu, Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli participated in this event.
• This conference was organized as a part of Pre-Vibrant Summit and way forward of education summit on “Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam on the Implementation of National Education Policy- 2020”, organized at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on 7th, 8th , and 9th July 2022, inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi.
• This conference was organized by Education Department, Government of Gujarat in association with The Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda
• This conference started with inauguration of the EDU- Startup exhibition by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shree Bhupendrabhai Patel followed by inauguration of the conference. Education Department, Indian Knowledge System, The Maharaja Sayajorao University, Baroda and different Startups displayed their information in the respective stalls.
• The conference hosted a series of events on key national initiatives as well as emerging global topics which are critical for promoting shared prosperity and highlight the implementation strategies, best practices, innovative ideas, and success stories of the major thrust areas of NEP-2020.
• The Conference also looked forward to building a culture to learn from each other and thereby help the Higher Education Institutions across the state to provide quality education.
• It was an opportunity to shape the future of higher education in India in alignment with the policy’s vision and objectives. During the conference, stakeholders discussed the challenges they faced, and also the measures adopted to tackle the challenges, which will be a guiding light for all Indian HEIs.
• This conference was organized in four sessions.
